At the end of the month of Mary, along with the MAIC people, volunteers, relatives, under the guidance of Don Diego and Don Ugo, we make a pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Valdibrana.
The MAIC is a Catholic association born in Pistoia in 1989. It has evolved over time and nowadays it represents an important center for the rehabilitation and the hospitality of the most complex disabilities.
An annoying drizzle hasn’t stopped the group which had waited a long time to make the journey.
When, after a brief break, the group gets to the Sanctuary, the satisfaction for having reached the destination is written all over the children’s faces.
The Sanctuary of the S.S, Maria rises up in a small town situated in a wide valley, at the Apennines’ slopes, exactly at the doors of the city of Pistoia. An ancient effigy of Our Lady, dating back to the 13th century, is venerated. The population first erected an oratory, finished in 1905 with the establishment of the actual Sanctuary.
